On the Second Day of christmas my roaster gave to me….

"..............so continuing with the theme of days of Christmas today I present to you a Brazil........."

So continuing with the theme of ‘days of Christmas’ today, I present to you: a Brazilian.

A new and very tasty Brazilian, but also a Brazil- do I need to say it again? This can mean only one thing: that Brazil is on its way again and that Christmas is near.

There will be a little change to the Brazilians we have this year (more to follow) but this is a great intro to some new coffees we will be having, and it’s one I think you will love. In the cup you can expect lovely nutty chocolate with a red fruit (strawberries/ cherry and raspberry), and all in all a delicious coffee.

So what have you asked Santa for this Christmas ? A new bike, a board game ? A new roaster.

Well I asked farther christmas for a new roaster and this is what he is bringing me.

Sorry ………

"..............I managed to cobble something together and I'm in the process of trying to edit it, but if you did miss out, I am super sorry.........."

JJust a quick post to say sorry about In My Mug #150 live. Those of you who came along to join in will have found me in rather a flummox with it all.

Google + hangouts seemed like the perfect platform to do this on. In fact, in early testing, it seemed perfect. But during the testing I never thought about limits. When I made it live, ten people ran into the room and I soon found there was a limit.

I tried in a panic to stream it, but that wouldn’t work, and then I got kicked out of my own room.

I managed to cobble something together and I’m in the process of trying to edit it, but if you did miss out, I am super sorry. I aimed high and missed. We do have something that I think is a first for coffee, and I learned a lot about how I would do it next time. I think that one will be an interesting In My Mug.

But BIG sorry from me, I hope you can forgive me for being a tech idiot :(

In My Mug Live pt 2

"..........It looks like this maybe a push to far, and the take up doesn't seem so amazing so I may be doing this on my own head, but we plough on. I hope you support it but I expect to fall flat on my face..........."

So this has been in the making for 149 episodes, it’s nice to commemorate a land mark with a special edition of In My Mug as something different.

It looks like this may be a push too far and the take up doesn’t seem so amazing, so I may be doing this on my own head, but we plough on. I hope you support it but I expect to fall flat on my face.

I expect this as the live audience thing has taken off as I thought it might. I only had a couple of people express interest; I guess seeing a warehouse in Stafford is not as exciting to others as it is to me, so maybe another time for that. We will not be having the “live audience”.

But the live-from-coffee-shops-around-the-world goes ahead on September 25th, as does the Google+ recording. Here’s the list of shops wanting to be involved, as it stands:

3fe, Lower Grand Canal Street, Dublin, Ireland

6 / 8 Kafe, Temple Row, Birmingham

Colonna and Smalls, Princess Street, Bath

Harlequin / the Attic King Square, York

North Tea Power, Tib Street, Northern Quarter Manchester

Transcend Coffee, Edmonton, Canada

But you can also do this at home, and here is how to be involved.

Number One “Get a Google+ account”

If you do not have an account, email me I’ll send you an invite, although I’m fairly sure you can just get one now.

Take a look here for more info.

This will allow you to participate in the live tasting.

Number Two “Download voice and video chat”

This sounds difficult, but it’s easy and free. Just go here and install.

Number three “Friend me up baby!!!”

Google+ is a bit like facebook – you can see what people are talking about. I haven’t got into it 100% yet but I’m trying. Add me to your circles (don’t worry, it’s just for this. If you hate me afterwards just stop following – I won’t know and understand that I can get a bit boring!)

I’m here

Number Four “Be ready on Sunday the 25th of September at 3pm”

I’ll be there from 2 pm in my little Google+ hangout, and I’ll post here on the blog and on facebook and on twitter and start making a noise. You come onto Google+ and join the hangout I will have created. You’ll get to talk to other people who are In My Mug subscribers, and we all get to hear from the coffee shops participating, and hopefully have some fun.

Number Five “ask for your coffee to be sent early”

I know most of your coffees arrive on the Saturday, which will arrive in time. But if you are not one of these lucky people email me with a request to send early and we will send on the Wednesday. We won’t send early unless you ask, but if this helps do take advantage.

I will be ready to answer any questions you may have about this on email, but also from around 1pm on the Sunday on the hangout, so feel free to dive in then.

Also try and make it to one of the coffee shops who are hosting for this. They have been kind enough to support “In My Mug live” and I’d love you to support them. They will be giving away coffee to try (as they didn’t know but were giving it to them as a freebie), so support them by buying something from them too !!!

In My Mug Live

"........these kind of land mark episodes I like to do something special, and this time were going to do something really different......."

So we approach in my mug episode 150, and on these kind of land mark episodes I like to do something special, and this time were going to do something really different.

So the coffee…….. its two special lots, two special lots I have never ever tried. We bought them with this in mind, our importer told us they are amazing, and super interesting so thats good enough for me. The ONLY way you can try these coffees are to be an in my mug subscriber. Keep in mind you will get 2 250g bags of something amazingly special (a very good reason to subscribe).

But there is another way to try them. If you are a coffee shop and would like to participate in this in my mug 150 then all you need a webcam and an internet connection and to drop me an email that you would like to participate and we can sort you out.

So far we only have two shops signed up in

Cafe Harlequin York
Third Floor Espresso Dublin

You can get in touch with these guys if you would like to get involved in a group. But you will be able to get involved at home if you have a webcam and an internet connection. If you would like us to send your coffee subscription a little earlier then ping me an email.

I’ll post more about this later in the week, but get ready its coming :) IMM 150
