Has Bean TV

...........we know you don't want to miss any amazing content I create :) So we have made a website to bring all these together........

Here at Has Bean we have a lot going on. An awful lot going on. We have this blog, we have In My Mug, we have twitter, brew guides, facebook tamper tantrum – the list goes on.

And we know you don’t want to miss any amazing content I create :) So we have made a website to bring all these together.

It’s like a TV channel for all things Has Bean so it’s called Has Bean tv (http://www.hasbean.tv) funnily enough.

It’s a beta site, so anything that needs looking at/ feedback etc please feel free to let us know. And if you like it that would be cool too.

Moving House, In My Roastery Episode number 1

"........we are moving house from the old roastery to a new place, fit out to our spec..........."

If you follow me on twitter @hasbean you may have seen we are moving house from the old roastery to a new place, fit out to our spec.

Never one to miss a chance to video myself I decided to give you a guided tour of how it is now. It’s a bit of a mess at the moment and there are many months of work ahead to fit it all out – we reckon around six months until it will be ready. So over the coming months we will keep filming these, and you will see the plans come together.

If anyone can paint, polish clean and build racking and brick walls – all applications to the usual channels.

Has Bean Brewing Guide Number 5 “Cupping”

".............Its a project I've wanted to do for a while, I love cupping and I want others to love it too, or at least a chance to try it............"

I am pleased to introduce the next in the brew guide series and also announce that it’s not a brew guide (as such).

It’s all about cupping, and how to do it. We have also produced a kit to get you cupping as well here.

It’s a project I’ve wanted to do for a while, I love cupping and I want others to love it too, or at least have a chance to try it.

I hope you enjoy. Ohh yes and the PDF download here

A Farm tour of Machacamarca

"............Not that we want to speed up the sales any more of this amazing coffee, as its flying out, but I do like to give you videos, so here it is........"

I found this video while searching through some stuff, it’s from my visit to Machacarmarca, and thought I should throw it out to you.

Not that we want to speed up the sales any more of this amazing coffee as it’s flying out, but I do like to give you videos, so here it is:

Has Bean Wholesale

"..........those eagle eyed amongst you will have seen me post some pictures on Flickr, called my secret filming project (not the best way to keep a project secret), well today we released that project........"

So for a long time we have sold coffee to coffee shops and restaurants (if you don’t believe me take a look here)

But since Dale Harris joined us a few months back now as our director of wholesale, we have been slowly building up the people we work with and getting slicker at what we do. I’ve always seen it as very important that we make sure we can look after the people we have more than looking to work with new people.

But we feel we are ready now, and those eagle eyed amongst you will have seen me post some pictures on Flickr, called my secret filming project (not the best way to keep a project secret), well today we released that project.

Called www.hasbeanwholesale.com there are three videos (go on take a look) around 3 minuets each.

Film one is called “what we do”, and I think this will be interesting for all customers not just wholesale. It dives into what we do at Has Bean.

Film two is called how we do, and it may come as a surprise that its how we roast, and all those kind of things. It also gives you a chance to see there is more than just me at the roastery.

Film three I am not in at all but is the result, of working with coffee shops and stars Dale, and starts Sam Tawil of Bold Street Coffee In Liverpool, as a typical customer and the relationship we have with all our customers.

I think there a good watch for everyone, current or potential wholesale cusotmer, and a good insight to what we do here at has bean.

After 19days of blogging, thats it for now a few days off I reckon (we will see) but I do hope you will dive into these videos and let me know what you think.

What is In My Mug

"..........So what is in my mug? This was part of the problem I guess I forgot, but its about us sitting down together and tasting some coffee together, and for me us learning something together........"

Just before Christmas I was having a conversation with a customer, and some how we came around to talk about in my mug. I was about a minute in and he looked a bit puzzled. So I slowed down and gave him chance to get a word in (which is rare) and he asked “what is in my mug?”

I thought everyone knew what it was, what it was about, but this shocked me that someone did not. So I’ve had this idea for a blog post ever since.

It also ties quite nicely with this weeks in my mug which has had a bit of a revamp, a little tinker with the format. I’ve moved some things dropped some things, and the feedback has been good (but happy to hear anything you do and don’t like)

So what is in my mug? This was part of the problem I guess I forgot, but its about us sitting down together and tasting some coffee together, and for me us learning something together. So on a Saturday night before I do in my mug, I’ll read up on the coffee I am going to be doing, I might have a read up about the country for a snippet about that, and I’ll taste the coffee to remind myself (its tough under the pressure of recording). Its a real focus on the coffee and makes me get better at my job.
