I like it, I think its give a different view. Also a good posting across on Jim Sever at the link here http://www.jimseven.com/2009/01/07/the-wine-model-doesnt-work/, which I think, also makes some good points against. Using the model.
It’s a little more complex than I originally thought (as always) but its really made me think, and I’ve loved the emails you guys have sent.

The whole coffee/wine analogy is something we’ve debated here on many occasions. We’d like to see wine as offering a sort of ‘road map’ for how coffee may be able to develop as a specialty beverage category. There are clear parallels but, of course, there are many distinct differences also. It’s also interesting to look at how other categories – such as bottled water – have also established themselves as a premium product (and surely with minimal discernable differences between products).
(By the way, your PowerPoint upload doesn’t seem to view correctly if I follow the link you posted – can you check that at your end?)
